phew! aaaahhh....TGIF are the only words I speak on fridays after 3pm. This is not to stigmatize the time (as 12 pm is for sardars!) but thats when I not only want to wind up the day but the week. Today was no special friday and I left the department at 5:25pm for a SABHA meeting.
As I reached Union I saw people designing and coloring floors with chalks that looked like sausages. To get a better view of what my Indian friends were doing I peeped into one group and saw beautiful designs and funny quotes on one piece of ground big enough to accommodate 10 people. There was earth showing US->KS->KSU, a giant eye ball attracting passerby yelling out "Hey look at me", then there was "willie the wild cat" set on fire showing the sprit of ksu and lot more 3D colorful figures nicely drawn on the floors. I never imagined Boscho plaza could possess such a creative ground.
People of all ages were immersed in "chalking out" their unique ideas and it all reminded me of the movie Tare Zameen Par. I was sparked with an enthusiasm to gather stuff myself and start chalking out my own drawing, an activity lost since late school days.
But before that something even more exciting awaited right besides the Union doors. There was an inflatable huge red chair that looked like a throne meant for a "take a picture" social. A photographer in his early twenties was taking pictures of people in different poses, props and moods and was printing the pics right away. WOW!!! That was so amazing. There were gogs, bibs, big spects and other baby stuff you would want to use for a pose. There was absolutely no limit on how many ever photos you could shoot. This guy was never annoyed of how many times you dropped by wanting to be shot...It was just so amazing to get the printed photos right away in decent photo frame...The entire arena was fun packed and I felt as if the week has begun...

To spice up there was a band playing some merry tunes and later a guitarist entertained the crowd with his jazz...It was one of the very exciting evenings I had at K-State. I suddenly had a desire to draw like true artists in the chalking competition at the same time wanted to join the singers on stage dancing along the tunes.
Drawing/painting is one mode of expression that brings out the best ideas from your mind. It sets your imagination on fire and you can create wonders with few colors in hand. It makes you experience objects, items, persons and feelings in your own creative and unique way. It gives you a feedback of how good observer you are and how well you could put unrealistic and realistic thing in some order just to create some sense and other times humor...I always desired of my parents giving me a room where I could draw pictures, graffiti and paintings on walls with numerous colors possible to break away from routine things like school...One advise for future parents..:D
